Srirangalli Community / SICC
The Srirangalli Community Project is a collaboration between a small group of growers in Karnataka’s Pushpagiri Range and the South India Coffee Company (SICC), led by husband-and-wife team Akshay Dashrath and Komal Sable. After returning to India from the UK, the pair set out to prove that Indian specialty coffee could support both thriving rural communities and long-term ecological stewardship—connecting small producers with international roasters through transparent, relationship-driven trade.
The farms themselves are tiny, often just one to eight acres, worked by families who grow coffee beneath dense shade canopies of jungle trees, native species, and fruit trees in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions. Many producers in Srirangalli lack the infrastructure to fully process and dry their coffees independently, so SICC supports the community with milling, drying, exporting, and quality control while helping farmers secure stable prices well above the volatile commodity market.
Over the years, the project has grown steadily—not through scale for scale’s sake, but through careful partnerships with growers who share SICC’s belief that environmental resilience and economic sustainability have to go hand in hand. We’re very happy to bring one of these coffees into the lineup.
